The Shimano Baitrunner spinning reels are some of the most durable reels on the market. The 6500 are all excellent reels at unbeatable prices. Shimano took the classic Shimano Baitrunner reels and made them better. The baitrunner series reels are used for fish in both salt and freshwater and have some amazing features. This is a great reel for fishing 20 to 30 pound test line. This reel will handle 50 pound Spectra with a 40 pound mono top shot without any problem at all. You can use this reel for heavy freshwater fishing or for medium saltwater fishing.
