Spinfisher SS Series – The Penn Spinfisher is by far the most recognized spinning reel on the market. Many fishermen prefer the skirted spool style this reel can offer. Not only does the skirt prevent line from becoming entangled or fouled, but it also helps to protect the inner workings of the reel for trouble free performance. The skirt also lessens friction on the line since it completely covers the rotor housing. HISTORY: The 8500SS replaced the 850SS in 1992, and so on for the entire series. In 2005 the 00SS were replaced by models from the SSg and SSm series.
