This Newell 5.5 to 1 ratio High Speed Stainless Steel Gear Kit includes the main gear and the pinion gear for Newell 500 Series fishing reels. This is a very high quality set of stainless steel gears made by Carl Newell Manufacturing Company. They were designed for the Newell 500 Series fishing reels for fishing the iron for Wahoo and Yellowtail. Also great for fishingWahoo bombs. These gears let you fish jigs at a higher speed giving you more bites and more fish.
These Newell gear sets are new old stock. Please note that since they are brand new gears make sure that you put a good amount of high quality grease on the gears (Cal’s Tan Universal Drag & Reel Grease works great) and crank the reel for several minutes to break in the gears properly.
