GM PART NUMBER 2142 ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS FOR SMALL BLOCK AND BIG BLOCK CHEVY V8 ENGINES

The 2142 motor mount (commonly manufactured by brands like Anchor Industries, Duralast, and Classic Performance Products) is an industry-standard, early-style Chevrolet factory replacement engine mount. It is designed for standard small-block and big-block V8 engines across a wide range of classic GM cars and trucks built between 1957 and 1973. 

The 2142 is a solid-type, non-interlocking vulcanized rubber mount encased in a stamped steel frame bracket. It features a classic two-bolt frame attachment style and a three-bolt pattern that mounts flat against the side of the engine block. 

Because it is engineered to replicate factory-original specifications, it uses standard natural rubber to isolate the chassis from engine vibration. It does not feature a modern interlocking safety tab (“T-lock”), meaning if the rubber degrades or tears under high torque, the engine block can physically detach from the frame bracket.
