CUSTOM MADE NEWELL STAINLESS STEEL ECCENTRIC LEVER KNOB, NEW
This is a custom made stainless steel eccentric lever knob or end piece that is virtually identical to the ones that were press fit onto the end of the eccentric levers on the Newell “Blackie”, the first generation Newell G series and the Newell P series reels. They are custom machined out of high quality super hard stainless steel and are made in 2 separate pieces that are pressed together when installed in place of the graphite knob at the end of the eccentric lever. Take notice of the before and after pictures. Please note that the eccentric lever is not included, just the 2 pieces that press onto the very end of the eccentric lever.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove the graphite eccentric lever knob using a vise, channel locks or vise grips.
2. Install the new improved stainless steel knob with the larger piece facing out towards the handle and the smaller piece in towards the spool.
3. Now use a 1 ton arbor press to press the 2 pieces together into place so they don’t come apart and basically form one piece. You can also use a large vise if you’re good.
4. If you are not mechanically inclined then I would recommend having your local machine shop or local tackle shop install this eccentric lever knob for you.
5. When it is all said and done you have a huge improvement over the graphite eccentric lever knob for sure. The finished product virtually looks identical to the Newell “Blackie”, P series Newell or the 1st generation G series Newell stainless steel eccentric lever knobs.
