CHROME PLATED METAL OPEN END FERRULE 2 1/4 INCHES LONG X 3/4 INCHES OD NEW OLD STOCK
This is an open end ferrule that is multi-purpose and can be used for building custom fishing rods. It is 2 1/4 inches in length and has an outside diameter of approximately 3/4 of an inch with an open end versus a closed end. It is made out of chrome plated metal and is made to last. One application would be to fit the female end over a fishing rod blank and then fit the male end into a reel seat. With the open end design you could cut a slot in the end of the ferrule so it can lined up with the pin that is inside the reel seat to prevent the connection from twisting, rotating or moving at all. This would eliminate the need for epoxy and allow you to have a break away handle.
